This morning the Storm Prediction center has changed their convection outlook for today to enhanced for buckeye, az. They are saying possible very large damaging hail. I remember 2010 severe hail storm caused lot of damage. https://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day1otlk.html

Some good rains have occured out in the far east/southeast valley, but most of the metro has nothing but dust in the bucket. Looks like a bust so far. NWS should start paring down the probabilities pretty soon and act like they never mentioned rain. LOL.

or, the smarter thing might be is to have an east valley/west valley forecast from now on, since it appears there are completely different weather modes for them, at least when it comes to rainfall..
correct me if I am wrong, but the east/south east valley gets tons more rain than the middle/west valley areas do..

it makes the weather forecasters look like fools when they are screaming the world is flooding, when the city of Phoenix gets little or nothing.

It's just getting started guys, don't be so quick to say you location missed out. It's sunny this morning here in Tucson but that doesn't mean we don't have lots of rain on the way. NWS Phoenix has upped their "monsoon threat index" to "extreme" for today, something I have never seen in my short time living down here. SPC now has an enhanced risk of damaging severe weather over SW Arizona (Buckeye area)

they regularly give dire threats and warnings, more of a CYA if you ask me, than an actual prediction of fate..
plus, they make such a big deal out of a 1/4 inch of rain here, its embarrassing to watch the panic that they bring on over nothing..
Tuscon weather seems a lot different than Phoenix weather, so I don't think what happens there means the same thing will happen in Phoenix..
