I've lived all over the country. I alternate between "highway" and "freeway" but I don't think I've ever used "expressway".

I grew up here but moved away in the mid 60's. I started coming back for visits in 2001 and moved here in 2017. Everytime I drive on Camelback on the east side, I remember that as a kid, Phoenix didn't exist past Camelback, and I remember all the open land. It's awe inspiring at times to view the growth.
