Got a ticket for 11 over. I'm eligible for traffic school.

If I wait to be served, (assuming I would probably be served since I've heard Scottsdale is very aggressive) , can I still take the driving school?

I'm aware of the extra $50 for getting served.

Everything I'm seeing online says Scottsdale will go out of their way to serve you but it's all pre pandemic info. Are they really sending servers during the pandemic?

I believe Scottsdale can serve you via certified mail now, or by attaching the citation to your front door. If true, there's really no way to escape it. I don't have any direct personal experience, but this is what I've read in local news sources.

Yes that's what I've read.

Ticks me off even more that they waited about 55 of the 60 days to mail it to me.

I can't believe there hasn't been an organized voter initiative to get rid of these things. The red light camera intersections are scary. All kinds of erratic driving, people either flooring it or slamming on their brakes the second it turns yellow.

And waiting almost 2 months to send it out shows a real concern for safety.

Sure, I don't think they do anything to improve public safety. I know where the ones near our house are at, and try to avoid them as best I can.

You going 11 over shows your concern for - safety?

Wait it out. If they don't serve you in person or via certified mail, they can't prove you ever received it.

If neither of those things happen, you can ignore it.

What I need to know is if I can still take the class after getting served.

Further confusing is the ticket says if it's not satisfied by the court date in 3 weeks, the court may enter a default judgment which could suspend vehicle registration and send it to a collection agency with additional fees.

All before even being served. Now it says may, not will, so maybe it's a scare tactic. All very confusing.

It shows my concern for putting you on ignore.

I have to tell you that with people on average going over by 15-20+mph on the freeways around Phoenix I would fully support them putting up speed cameras with fines starting at 10mph over.

The last several trips I have never so many accidents around town like in an other big city that I travel to, it is getting ridiculous.

Do you really need to be traveling 75-90 mph, weaving in and out of traffic.

So you have no relevant input towards the basis of this thread. Got it.
