I think it is a great idea to have a nice casino in the West Valley...think of the addtional fun.... the area they are considering would be in that area by Westgate and the arena, so it would further it as being a destination site for visitors who are on vacation, etc. Why should Scottsdale get all the casino action? ALSO...think of all the jobs! Let's support the idea...forget the idea of it bringing in riff raff....that's not true!

I also take exception with the guy who incinuates that the people who the West Valley Casino would be targeting would be low on the socio-economic scale. Either he has not visited the West Valley lately, or he hasn't visited Casino Arizona or Harrah Ah Chin....... there may be places like he describes, but that area of the Valley won't be one of them! PS...when did he visit Laughlin either? LOL....it's not Vegas, but it's not the picture he paints.

How about Wild Horse Pass? With the smallest hotel room at over $100 Saturday night, Shula's Steak House, and a Troon golf course, I wouldn't call that targeted to the low socio-economic scale.

I don't meant to be argumentative because you raise several valid points however, in my experience, I notice the casinos are nice but still attract the same low socioeconomic crowd. It just seems like the low socioeconomic crowd chooses to spend their money in the casino versus elsewhere. Trust me, I wanted to enjoy the casino scene here because I enjoy going to casinos in Vegas. But even when a new casino comes out and it's really nice, it seems to attract the same blue collar crowd. It seems like the higher socioeconomic crowd will just fly or drive to Vegas if they really want to gamble and have a good time.
