Is there a website listing the various areas in and surrounding Phoenix?

We will be moving in the near future so maybe you all can offer suggestions on where I should be looking for a house. Things that are important to us are: Commute time - would like to keep it to 30 to 45 minutes if possible. Office is located on N. Black Canyon Hwy between W. Glendale Ave and West Bethany Home Rd.

We'd love to have a view, perhaps a pool, nice outdoor living space, with a location convenient to stores and services. Kids are grown, so we are looking to downsize a bit. Probably something around 2,000 sq ft or so.

With regard to a pool, is there any possibility usage could be curtailed because of water shortages? The last time we were in the southwest we were hearing a lot about water concerns.

I guess what I'm looking for are areas I can research online before we come out to look for a home. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Right here on CD is probably one of the best places! Get out a map....start from your work location(s) and move outward and look at the neighborhood/city names and use the search feature above for each of those places. If you have specific questions about an area, feel free to post and many will help here, but there are MANY posts already on just about every neighborhood there is!

i'd probably look around north phoenix and the arrowhead area

there are some really nice neighborhoods settled into the hills around north phoenix (sorry, can't remeber the exact locations as I was visiting different friends or friends of friends on a variety of occasions) ......... arrowhead is super convenient and you would have a pretty easy non-freeway trip into work, but the scenery isn't as immediate

East Phoenix might get you some great views of Piestewa Peak and/or Camelback mountain. I don't know what you're looking to spend but here is a good example:

4531 N. 43rd St. Phoenix, AZ 85018 | HomeFinder.com

Cheaper houses can be had in the area but they might not have clear views. Your commute wouldn't be too bad either.

I would suggest Arrowhead area around 67th Ave and Loop 101 or Fireside by Happy Valley and I-17
