I heard it was "Nascar" town, if you know what I mean...but I have never been and have heard there are some nice subdivisions.

Considering we live in the Quad Cities in Illinois where there are farms everywhere and downtown is considered "busy" from 4-5pm.
just a quick comparison here: as some have said, it is a hard call, both towns have positives as well as negatives:

Phoenix; a lot to do in and around the city
great dining
close to Laughlin, the Colo river and Vegas (that may or may not be an issue)
good medical facilities (not that ABQ doesn't have this as well)
lots of sunshine
good shopping malls
professional sports if this is important to you.

ABQ area:
much better weather with 4 seasons, none are extreme
lower cost of living
less traffic
not as crowded

Nita

Hope this helps a little

I have lived in both places. I like Rio Rancho, but crime out there is worse than here. That is why we came back here. Weather in NM is much nicer though and I miss it.

jayely1, have you checked out the taxes in both states? I've been looking at moving from ABQ to PHX due to allergies, but after taking a long hard look at the taxes, I may just put up with pollen and stay in ABQ. Arizona taxes everything. I was very surprised.
