In fact my neighbor is selling his house if you're interested he doesn't have it on the market yet.
There are 2 roosters in my neighborhood on different properties. They talk to each other. I like them, too.

I have a rooster and chickens next door. When he was first learning to crow he was so funny he made me laugh every time. Now he's full grown, has a nice crow but isn't obnoxious about it. His hens can be but then they have to make a huge announcement every time one lays an egg! lol My daughter claims they are saying, "Ouch! That smarts!".

I'm glad someone revived this thread, as it was a subject I had wondered about.

We live "way out" on the Cactus/Shea corridor near 104th, which I suppose used to be the wild, wild West as far as Scottsdale was concerned. There are a number of horse breeding operations here, as well as horse properties. But I wondered if people were raising any other kind of livestock and if it's even allowed here. Or maybe there's an "Arabian horse exception" made by the city.

One of the roosters in my neighborhood has a perfect, textbook "cockadoodledoo" crow, and the other one is more high pitched and sounds a big strangled. It's funny to hear them go back and forth It's almost like the perfect one is coaching the other on how to do it right.

My lot is large enough to have chickens and I did give a thought to getting some rescues, but the last thing I need is more animals to take care of

Sometimes 'my' rooster sounds like he's ending his crowing with a question mark! Pretty funny.

No animals here, except for the two kitties I adopted yesterday from Sedona. They were rescues from that recent fire in Flagstaff. Cute little things, about 3-4 mos. old. The most fun animals I ever had were goats when I lived in No. Idaho. They are the funniest, craziest things who think you are their 'family'.

LOL. Well, all horses are covered by the same zoning, of course, but the Arabians outnumber the rest in that part of the Valley. I suspect other forms of livestock are okay too, with perhaps some limitation on numbers.
