As the title suggests, were flying over for 4 days on the 17th Dec, we don't want to look at specific houses but we would like to see what we can get for our money, could anyone suggest links to developments that have show homes?

Were looking at the Scottsdale/Paradise Valley areas 750k-1m range.

Regards

It's easy to see how 'the title' suggests flying over for 4 days. It's also evident that you can't really look at specific houses while your flying. But what's really baffling is that anyone who has 3/4 to a million dollars on hand can't figure out how to get these desperate developers around here down on their knees and drooling profusely. Not to mentions showing their custom homes.

If I had wanted a smart arse remark I would have put it in the title but being as you gave one I would kindly ask that unless you can provide information that I could find useful I would suggest you go back under your 'bridge'

Great, more people coming to the Valley to add to the endless cookie cutter sprawl that is Phoenix.

But if you're interested in something other than a McMansion or a SnoutHouse, here are some sites with nice lofts and condos in the area:

From the sounds of it, you will fit well into Scottsdale. You have the right attitude for it. Besides, the town of PV won't have many impressive custom luxury homes for that price range, so stick with Scottsdale on all accounts.

You might have to contact a realtor too if you only have 4 days and want to make your trip more than just driving by exteriors. I cant think of a single model home development that is in that price range that is also worth the money. The custom builders dont usually show their homes, realtors do.

This is correct. With that limited amount of time, you should find a realtor familiar with the area who can locate homes for you to look at that are in that price range, including the small custom home developments whose builders don't advertise like the other builders do, so you have to know where to look.

Scottsdale Lofts & Scottsdale High Rise Condos

Wow what a great welcome, I wish now I would have said I was looking in the $150k-250k range

Thanks, we were hoping we could have a good look around at some developements rather than have to go around with a realtor, but we might have to, we just want to find out whats available for the price range, and also the style of house is very different in Arizona than here in Florida.

If you are looking at buying and building from a new home builder, I would probably plan for $200,000+ in upgrades (including pool/landscaping), to conform with the neighborhood. So see if you can find new homes with a base price of $550K-$800K. Toll Brothers has a nice community called Windgate Ranch in Scottsdale. It's a really nice location that is near the Western slope of the McDowell Mountains, yet still ~2 miles from the freeway to get into town, and very close to the high end shopping/fine dining at DC Ranch. They have a few different levels of housing product at Windgate Ranch. A lot of the new builders in the area are going to be quite a bit over $1mm. Another option is Desert Ridge, which is in Phoenix just adjacent to the Scottsdale border. I would start at the Toll Brothers website and see what Windgate Ranch has to offer.
