Good. The more put away the better for the law abiding. Thanks for the good news. Now they need to get the other loser and drag on society.

I've worked plenty of overnight shifts, too, and appreciate places that don't close at 9.
K. Glad they caught two of them. One more and we have a winner! Keep them off the streets.

If I was speaking to that woman, I would express my sympathies.

But I don't feel the need to pretend that everyone I speak to about these issues has just been victimized themselves.

The perps apparently are not from Homewood or East Liberty either. Who'd a thunk it?

But surely they aren't nice Jewish boys from the local Yeshiva?

Putting these kids into adult prison to learn from and be abused by a concentrated group of lifelong felons until they get out, more angry and less employable than before... is sure to be just the medicine society needs.

This is why I'm leaning more and more towards Singapore style justice. Putting these punks in jail is no real deterrent and would likely make them even worse. An excruciatingly painful beating, preferably broadcast on live TV, would serve as a much better deterrent. I doubt you would see many repeat offenders.

This kind of crime is really inexcusable, and these miscreants need locked up for their own safety as well as everyone else's.

Armed street robbery can lead to the serious injury or death of not just the victim, but the robber as well, the chance of being confronted by an armed would-be victim or an armed passerby is actually pretty great.

And for what?

Most people don't carry the cash they did years ago.

This is true. If the victim pulls out a real gun, their pellet gun isn't going to help when the slugs start tearing through them.

Even if they have a real gun to return fire, its still not "self defense" and they'll be facing felony murder charges and possibly the chair.

The number of hazards to being a successful armed robber on the street are incredible, society is doing these folks a great favor by catching them and locking them up for 10 years or so.
