You wouldn't have seen hayseeds and hicks out in East Lib 20 years ago, much less when I was a kid.
This was the original post and to be honest, I haven't seen a Confederate Flag in a very long time in the Pittsburgh area and I cycle everywhere, so am able to see much more than someone in a car. It would be wildly rare around here. I suspect that is what prompted the OP's post, since it sticks out like a sore thumb. I don't know if one vehicle passing through East Liberty with a giant "Rebel Flag" flying can be considered "diversity".

I've seen quite a few, but pretty much only in places that people could have been traveling to from rural exurbs or wherever. Like when traveling through town on 376, which is not much indication of anything, in mall parking lots, and at Costco.

If they had a Confederate flag I doubt they're Texans. Texas has its own historical flag (well, it also belongs to Chile) and is one of the few Southern states that didn't flaunt their contempt of African Americans during the civil rights movement by altering their historical flag into some variation of the Confederate flag.

I don't see why someone would be suprised to see a Texan having a confederate flag as one of the most famous confederate units (hoods brigade) was from texas & Texans are proud of their history overall
