It doesn't have a modern semi-bistro place to get a burger now that I'm aware of. But also I don't understand the question, which I hear on here a lot when discussing yupscale apartments, coffeehouses, Thai restaurants, and I guess now burger joints. We're not a Soviet-style command economy, we don't build things based on majority-approved needs, it doesn't matter that much what we need.

Meh. Burgatory is overhyped and mediocre. Fine for the suburban/exurban crowd... but I don't know how many are going to actually care about it in an urban environment.

I like BRGR better. Burgatory has more of a chain restaurant feel. Does anyone know if Burgatory makes all the waiters sing "Happy Birthday" when someone eats there on his or her birthday? I don't remember if I actually saw that there or whether it just felt like that kind of place.

Of course I'm pretty new here, but you haven't hear me whining about an abundance of coffee houses or Thai restaurants. I'd love to see more choices of Indian, Thai, Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, etc. especially with a liquor license. But I guess burgers are more popular...

In reality, I'd prefer a good, old-fashioned red sauce place where I could also have a glass of chianti.

Maybe you'd like Legends of the North Shore. I don't drink, so I can't tell you about their wine, but it's my favorite red sauce Italian restaurant.

Funny, I put off going to Burgatory for the longest time because I'm just not gonna go drive to a strip mall to eat. I finally made it to the Waterfront location early this year, and I had to begrudgingly admit that I actually liked the food better than BRGR. I'm willing to give the Market Sq location, when it opens, a chance to usurp BRGR as my in-town burger joint of choice.

Don't decide on your in-town burger until you've been to Legume for lunch. http://www.legumebistro.com/Lunch%209.14.15.pdf

I find that BRGR gets "rare" right a lot more often than Burgatory. I've eaten at the latter four times now, and each time my burger has been overcooked, as if they decided in the kitchen that I must have been kidding when I asked for "rare" (or "red," I think they call it). I like the cheese they use better than what BRGR serves, but if a burger is overdone, who cares what kind of cheese it's topped with.

What's wrong with going to a strip mall to eat?

You can park right in front of (or in the case of Burgatory) in back of the store for free without hassle.

And the bus goes right by there as well, several routes, if you're problem is with driving.

Don't tell anybody, but Burgatory makes a great grilled chicken sandwich. They also have ground chicken that is excellent. When you are filling out your slip, there is nowhere to check off "grilled chicken" just ground. You must specify by writing it in or tell your server.

Good to know, as I'd probably never order another burger there.
