We Americans have allowed corporations to rule supreme and the oil industry have been the kings. If this BS disaster does not wake people up to the reality that we must regulate everything they do then what will? But regulation is not in the vocabulary of most repubs or conservatives. Even with this disaster all most of them can manage is to find a way to place all of the blame on Obama.

It just does not make sense.
The help was offered to the Obama administration as the executive of the nation. They delined it siteing the Jones Act in doing so.No one thinks the Obama administrtion has any clue as to stopig the leak. But it defieniltely does in protecting the environment and can recover maneies as alweays from BP. In that case it really was the insruance compnies that should ahve rescued the people in Katrina alos. obama is late to the game it seems. No excuses allowed.

It should've been BIG enough to take care of EVERYTHING, not the poor little states, NOT Our God The Corporation who CAUSED the leak!

Please, Big Government , spend as much tax money as possible!!

And,ask for help from other countries(which we hate but oh well). Don't pay any attention to the logistics of THAT nightmare ...just SAVE our fellow Americans that we usually hate and Save The Wildlife we haven't ever given a damn about before!""

They flip flop more than oil covered fish!
Has the federal government made this thing worse than it had to be by not allowing Louisiana to do the things they thought would keep the oil from their wetlands? Yep, they have. Has the federal government kept skimmers from working because unions wanted their boys doing the work? Yep they did that. Could Obama have done away with the Jones Act for a short period of time to allow foreigners to help us? Yep he could have but the union bosses had his ear and they didn't want him to do that>

I am sorry but it appears that many here don't give a damn about the gulf coast states and only worry about their Saviour. So much Pelosi is scattered out over this thread now that we may never be able to dig it out.

I wonder if you've EVER read the Clean Water Act and the Oil Pollution Act. That way you would know it is the federal governments responsibility to take charge and address the clean up....and the president is tasked with specific duties.

Ohhhh....can we just think of what the reaction would be from the Left is this was a republican who had waited MONTHS to accept the help that was offered 3 days after the spill?

BZZZZ. Wrong answer again charlie. He was offered help 3 days after the well blew up...and he accepted it from those countries who didn't attach strings or try to give us stuff that we don't use 'cause it's dangerous.

Try again.

Can we get him to accept help on the economy too? Maybe divide the presidency into a several different positions. Give Ron Paul the domestic economic policy position and somebody else could get foreign and military policy, one would have energy and another social/ health care services. Obama could get recreation or college relations or something.

I love how the rightwingers want to blame Obama for this instead of BP and the G-O-BP taking $4 million in campaign contributions! Foreign skimmers should have been hired by BP and not Obama and the US Government! Why hasn't BP hired them instead? They said they would pay for the clean up but what good is that if the well is still spilliong Oil!

Help was offered and accepted from a few countries as early as 30 Apr. Most of the "offers" have been for rental of equipment and personnel. Those are the one's mainly under consideration, or they involve assets that are not approved for use in our waters.

Don't believe the hype...the truth shall set you free. And sad, that it's taken 70 days for you to see it.

Your apologies, can be sent directly by prayer to "Lord Barrack" as you spell it.

Because of the Jones Act which he JUST NOW waived.

Pull that $4 million number out of thin air?

BP: Recipients | OpenSecrets

Note who the number one recipient of all time happens to be.

Looks like this last go round Democrats were dipping their snouts in the BP trough even more than their Republican buddies.

In the wake of the BP disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, the Department of the Interior’s Minerals Management Service (MMS) has continued to issue “categorical exclusions” for oil companies, allowing them to bypass the last stage of environmental review before proceeding with drilling projects, an Interior Department official told ABC News Wednesday.

Interior Department Continues to Issue

How is this excusable?
