....[T]his Tuesday Jindal signed more new laws — the “mandated ultrasound” laws being pushed by the religious right in many states, requiring ultrasound procedures for all women who get abortions.

But Jindal’s anti-abortion laws go a step farther; he also banned malpractice coverage for doctors who perform abortions, and banned abortion coverage by federal insurance pools [not sure what this means, or how he could ban federal coverage of anything].

Also in Gov. Jindal news, this week he signed a bill which mandates that the "second offense for soliciting a crime against nature would be a felony punishable by up to five years in jail, a maximum fine of $2,000 or both." And a "bill [that] would authorize persons who qualified to carry concealed weapons having passed the training and background checks to bring them to churches, mosques, synagogues or other houses of worship as part of a security force."

Sounds decent to me. Who does it harm and how is it unconstitutional?

It's INSANE, but so are the Fundies of the world. If a woman who is raped gets to keep her ultrasound image after her termination I hope she uses it as a dartboard. Fundies could use a few well aimed darts at their backsides.

The only people that would be against this would be people that do not want someone seeking an abortion to go into it with complete knowledge. They have been selling the "it's just a glob of cells" lie for a long time and we all know the lefties demand ignorance above all.

My how ghoulish of you. I wouldn't worry, there will still be enough killing of the unborn to satisfy the left. Even a rape victim should go into the precedure of abortion with knowledge.

Par for the course of a red, southern state.

So? Don't live there if you don't like it. I hear you can buy a house in California for cheap right now.

You do understand that in the instance of rape a D&C is preformed an that no pregnancy can survive a D&C so it is moot, right?
