It is a large, urban library serving a very diverse population, and no, many of our patrons don't have a great deal of education. If they did, they would know the program actually began under GWB, not Obama, or Reagan.

Care to take any more shots at our library patrons?

I have no evidence of this, just a thought.

Keep in mind .. i am very conservative when it comes to taxes and abuses in the welfare system, but I think there is a bigger picture in this case.
They can pay for their phone with their unemployment check....

The phone tax I am talking about is just to pay for a welfare cell phone..it's on the cell bill ..there's no splitting of hair there...

I'm not well off and I refuse to have a cell phone. It's an entirely unnecessary item.

Default Should the tax payers have to buy cell phones for the poor?

This is outrageous to me. Food? OK. Shelter? Fine. But cell phones are now a right, not a privilege? Where does it end? How about GPS systems?

Free cell phones and 70 minutes a month on the tax payers dime.
