There are two ways to prevent the mosque being built:
1. The President has to declare that in this case the Constitution must be set aside to deny the building.
2. Lawmakers have to quickly enact a law to prevent the building of a mosque.
Or the developer building it will wake and realize that to achieve his supported goal of building bridges between Muslims and non Muslims, moving the location of the Mosque will create more goodwill and acceptance. It would be an incredibly smart PR move for him if bridge building is truly what he wants.
The majority of the 9/11 families oppose the mosque.
Do you have verification of that statement? I am unaware of any official poll or tally of the families' opinions.
I know a number of family members have spoken out in opposition in the press, and you saw that Peaceful Tomorrows is comprised of about 200 families, but I am not aware of any formal gathering of opinion amongst that group.
Just as in the case of NY muslims have been praying and holding services in the Pentagon for years, why is that not considered an affront to the victims from the Pentagon, where was all the congressional outrage?
I haven't seen anyone attempt to deny anyone's rights. What I have seen is a request of the people with that right to exercise it in another location.
So, essentially what they are saying is that "we will dictate where your house of worship shall be located or not"...and you do not see how that is denying rights or discriminating? Unbelievable!

Mybe because the mosque in the Pentagon wasn't designed to be a 13 story attention grabbing sideshow. There are other Mosques in the vicinity of WTC who haven't been bothered or asked to move after 9/11. Its just this great big, stick in your eye monstrosity that has raised the ire of some.

If you had bothered to watch the video, Olbermann clearly explains that the Mosque is not as visible as the naysayers would have you believe. Really besides the point though.

Its just a rectangular building they don't plan on chaning anything. They are doing this to have a place of worship as they have been doing at the present location since July 2009 and no one had an issue.

That is not denying rights. It's acknowledging the right and making a request. The developers have the right to honor the request or not.
