This story does not say the cause of the recent violence was the imam not backing down. The people in Kashmir were rampaging about what they'd heard about: the threatened Koran burning in the US.
Yep, what they had heard and they just don't wait to see if what they have heard is true or even happened before they go off half-cocked. I won't blame Muslims for that but those people are not highly educated or liable to worry about possible being wrong.

Darn it, if only that part weren't in there.
Delusianne, your snarky tone really isn't hitting it's mark. It only backfires on you more because your comments are so factually and historically inaccurate that it is laughable. Whats so amazing is how oblivous you are. Are you like 19, for real?

Muslims have been killing Christians and Hindus in India for MANY MANY years, as they have been doing in various degrees to Christians the world over since there has been Islam. To address the Muslim violence against Christians, see this link from 2005. I could dig up more but no need, just google the topic yourself:

Anti-Christian Rampage by 2,000 Muslims : Stop The ACLU

Honestly, Delusianne, and I mean this sincerely, you are consistently talking about things you have no clue, and your use of the term "pesky" in this regard really only makes you look worse.

In some countries many muslims have never read the koran, and many who dictate are not scholars in the koran, just people using it to gain and hold on to power. (just like many pick and choose what parts of their bible to follow)
Very true, and much like parts of America with the false preachers of the Bible. Not to equate the too, but similar.

The larger point is that the radical Muslims use any and all perceived slight to their self obsessed, self important view of the world as revolving around their religion, that they once again resort to violence. The sad fact is that the people in Kashmir have been rampaging for YEARS, this is just the latest event. Im sure you were never even aware of that. THis same group sees the world as MUSLIM or NON-Muslim. thats their entire point of reference. They dont care about nuance. They have been rioting long before the FLorida pastor and will be rioting long after. Because they are radical Muslims.

Yeah, just look at the homeless in the US; those who die because they don't have health care, children are abused, etc.
We're so much better. Not. Just different.

Do you think it might have something to do with the vast numbers of people in small areas and their getting incomplete information?
Did not the US christer community (and others) go about bragging that they were burning korans?
Who started this stupid fiasco?

Who said you weren't allowed to burn a book? Really.
Allowed?
Why is it that some people love to compare their country with the lowest common denominator?
If that's the only way they can dismiss all culpability for their countrymen, I guess I understand. Ummmm.

Oh my, Chielgirl....how your religion of Marxism dies hard, huh?

YOU:
Yeah, just look at the homeless in the US; those who die because they don't have health care, children are abused, etc.

ME:
Are you comparing homelessness to religious based murder? One is a problem of complicated economic/social origin. The other is the DELIBERATE murder of humans based on their religion. The two have NOTHING to do with each other. But you knew that...right? If not, please present a cogent, logically and morally consistent case stating such.

YOU:
Do you think it might have something to do with the vast numbers of people in small areas and their getting incomplete information?
ME:
Many major problems with your post. First, your oversimplistic and assumption laden explanation, and also the fact that you left out the PROVEN fact that MANY radical Muslims come from highly educated backgrounds but STILL hold the same radical, hatred beliefs. Do you need me to post them for you, Chielgirl? Like...the Saudi hijackers on 9/11? Don't embarrass yourself some more, ok?

YOU:
Did not the US christer community (and others) go about bragging that they were burning korans?
Who started this stupid fiasco?
ME:
No, ONE pastor did, and some more loons followed suit. However, that's both completely irrelevant, and bizarrely left out of your theory is how to explain that the actions of the FLorida pastor are recent, and the reality of violent radical Islam LONG predates that...by what...1500 years?

Explain that one. Your avoidance of reality is amazing.

It started a long time before Sept 11.

It's cuz the law is stronger here than individual freedoms. If there were no government restrictions on how Westerners can protest, we would end up with lynchings and killings just the same.

Another factor - we have more to lose. People elsewhere have nothing to lose. So be glad that we actually have something worth restraining our bad behaviors for.

The reason no Xian is gonna kill a Muslim over religion in this country is because we have it way too good.
