There is nothing better established in this forum than that you have no idea what "liberal" means. If you did, you would not require the legions of straw men that populate the threads you start.

How many embassies got burned down?
First of all, I don't know that there were all that many liberals saying that Danish cartoonists shouldn't be drawing Mohammed cartoons. Most of the liberals I know supported the Danish cartoonist, and felt that the Muslim outrage was over the top. That said, if your question is really "why", then people who oppose such cartoons don't oppose it because they oppose freedom of speech, they oppose it because in their value system they value respect for other people's religion and religious views. Freedom of speech doesn't have to include disrespecting other people. There are many ways you can exercise your freedom of speech, freedom of opinion, freedom of thought, and still respect other people.

Funny how you ignore the other cases. You don't think there will be no consequences if you show up at a church shouting anti-christians insults?

Use your common sense.
There would be zero violence or threats of violence if people shouted antischristian insults at a church.

Doubtful.

In 1983 I was assaulted at a Mall in Fayetteville, NC by a nice Baptist couple because I was wearing a T-Shirt that said "Charles Darwin died for your sins."

I was stupid to wear that shirt. I have grown up a bit since then.

Really? If you truly believe this, then your exposure to fundamentalist Baptists has been extremely limited.

Greetings from a LIBERAL. I believe an individual, or a group of individuals, can say, paint, sculpt, video anything they damn well want. The only condition is that the individuals exercising their free speech be responsible for the consequences. Protected Free Speech is not irresponsible speech.

You have zero evidence to support that.

HD - Insults, no matter how deep, do not justify violence. Proper Christians would have prayed for your soul. I would have laughed.
