That's called The Free Market. It's a good thing.
Health care is not a right. Health insurance is not a right.

They'd rather have the government do it for them and think that would be cheaper.
That is how the free market works. Employer health insurance is part of the package. The firm I just retired from would provide a total rewards statement which quantified the value of health insurance (they were self insured), 401k matches, insurance, training, etc, etc.

We estimated that it cost us around $75,000 to replace a trained professional so it was very important to be competitive across the board.

Fact is, a lot of people like their employer to handle the benefits because it takes admin away from them and gives them the cost advantage of being part of a large pool.

The taxpayer will foot the bill if the emplyer doesn't. Perhaps that's their hope.

You know, it funny (ironic), there's another thread on here about a house that was allowed to burn b/c the owners did not pay the fire dept. their fee, and some of the same people who are happy to let people go w/o health insurance are castigating the firefighters for not putting it out anyway. I guess property is more important to some of you than lives.

That these kids (including my daughter) are all freeloaders who should go out and get a job? Lotta good it will do them.
Yes, that was me. I haven't changed my opinion on that.
But since it's the law now I mentioned it.
I wonder how they came up with the 26 number why not 30 or 36?

I worked at McDonald's when I was younger. A lot of those on the management track were young, college kids and only worked part-time so they didn't qualify for these benefits. You have to pretty much be the store manager to get full-time hours. But they won't tell you that upfront because the incentive is supposed to be enticing...if you knew you weren't going to get it you'd probably rethink a career in mixing the special sauce

Under ObamaCare, yes, that's the general idea. But when the government pays the bills it calls the shots and that's a bad thing.

Spell hypocrisy for me.

This is not the thread to discuss the age.
