I never said they were run by the federal government. Nevertheless they are a government run entity. Your tax dollars pay for it.

Yeah I'm sure McDonalds is hurting so much financially that they can't offer people benefits. They treat their employees like cattle and it's disgusting. We have a McDonalds by us that shut down to remodel and let go their employees. They waited until the last possible minute to tell everybody and it was November before the holiday season. Makes me sick how these corporations treat the people that are helping make them rich.

Yeah, yeah. The evil job providers. McDonalds has such a high employee turn around, nobody really makes McDonalds a career, it is a kids high school job, hence why they can't work full time.

That's funny.....I see many adults working at my local McDonalds. They have things set up to hire part time staff for a reason.....to escape paying benefits. Yeah I feel bad for the billionaire business.

How many adults compared to highschool kids work at these places? End of story. It's not a career job in most positions at McDonalds. The only career positions are at the top. The rest are just stepping stone jobs.

But then why cut out benefits for the adult long term workers? If they have so many part time student workers then it shouldn't cost that much to offer decent (not shabby as it's being reported for the benefits they do offer) benefits for the ones who deserve it. The average McDonalds restaurant open at least a year had sales of $2.3 million in 2008. I guess it's too much to ask for decent health coverage. They still will be making millions.....it all comes down to greed.

I'm pretty sure that the career people that work full time get decent benefits. This story is talking about the part timers. Did you know that when the fed or state governments hire part timers they don't offer them benefits either? At least McDonalds was trying to do something.

I find the majority of people I come across with attitudes like this are usually retired people who suck off of Medicare and do nothing but sit around watching Fox News all day.

Unless regulators waive a requirement of the health-care overhaul, McDonald’s

This new health insurance law sucks big time.

Funny that McDonalds must provide health care insurance in Europe etc. , must pay much more in wages and still has huge record profit margins over there.

They do it because they can do it here. Not because they can't afford it. The U.S. allows them to exploit employees BIG TIME.
