From the reaction today this is HUGE boost for William's career. Once he is free from his contract and all the legal issues are settled I'd love to read/hear him do an expose' on NPR from his decade of experience there.
Ahhhh, yes! Can't wait!

Thanks for that, but yes, I was aware. Too bad so many people just follow lock-step behind the talking heads instead of forming their own opinions. Doesn't show much intellegence. That's why our country is in trouble.

Do you think JW would have been fired for saying he would have been nervous about going to a Tea Party event?

He never would have raised an eyebrow with that comment because it's expected and common knowledge that the left demonizes the right.

It just shouldn't make us nervous at all? Really?
while it is unfair to paint all muslims with the same brush, i know many and they are nothing like the islamofacists that want to kill everything they see, most of the moderate wont stand up and say that what the islamofacsits do is wrong.

I'm actually wondering what percentage of their budget comes from public funds. It's most certainly not a majority. For what I've read it's around or maybe even less than 10%. Most of the money comes from private and corporate donations.

I absolutely hate to see Juan Williams leave NPR, but this was not at all a racist move. There are several black programs hosts who are employed with the company. And I believe he would still be there had he not said what he did.

The fact is, NPR can hire and fire whomever they want. They now just have to deal with the public outcry when their decisions are viewed as controversial.

He would have gotten a promotion for saying that.

Always trying to dictate FREE SPEECH.

When your views are so unpopular you have no choice but to quiet all opposing views. Very sad!

Yes, indeed they are. Just as everybody's opinion is equal.

Personal attacks though are somewhat out of bounds..
