As to sustainability, you don't sort of see the crumbling of the US as world superpower, under capitalism? The countries in the mentioned list have been around a LOT longer than the US.
Well, maybe people should change and not be so driven to look out (only) for themselves. I think that is called a form of greed and that is what has led to the current mess the US is in.
Oh please, get off your butt and make something of your life. Why should I look out for you if you are not even looking out for you? That is what I call lazy ass. I am the most important person in my own life and that's how it should be. If one can't take care of themselves, how can they offer anything to anyone else? That's what Socialism brings. It brings mediocrity where everyone starts letting others do for them.

BTW, there is a huge difference between drug dependency and government dependency, the former being it's actually in the DSM IV.
It was obviously an outlandish comparison, but it still doesn't change the fact that if you require people to be dependent on the Gov, people will lose the ability to fend for themselves, which slows competition, development, etc.
