It's time to stop paying these people to lay around and breed. They should get exactly the same time off as a working mother - 6 weeks maternity time. At the max 3 months and back to work they must go. Just like everyone else.

And if they won't return to work in 3 months, then in order to stay living on the government handouts, they should be required to have tubal ligations. And yes - for the men who won't pay child support, there should be vasectomies or else prison time.

$850 a month for food?
They are allowed to buy top price steaks and lobster, ice cream - so yes - $850 for food. Far more than working taxpayers have.

I will always have sympathy for the children who were unfortunate to be born into a lifestyle of poverty. It has become generational & the only way to undue this is through forced via ultimatums.
Some of these parents have also been born into this lifestyle & do not know any other way.
My post was in regards to this thread and the 7 year welfare queen who looks like she hasn't missed a meal in a long long time plus also sporting some ugly tatoo on her arm that was more than likely paid for by the taxpayers dime...and to be in this situation and spit out what was it 5 kids all under the age of 6....please

I don't think nuclear engineers are much at risk of a former welfare recipient replacing them, even if said former recipients were willing to work the 80 hours a week those jobs demand.

..... AND the welfare leeches actually have to show up for work every day and on time. I will bet that is the reason MOST are unemployable.

I have always felt anyone can make a mistake, thus I can easily excuse one unwanted pregnancy. The second, OK, two mistakes. After that it is no more funds and or like you said, tubal ligation. I know it sounds awful, but someone has to convince these people you can't just keep having kids and expect the government to pay for them. Get you asses off the couch and find a job. I don't care if you have to clean toilets. If you have chosen to drop out of school, have no education, will not make an attempt to get one you had better do whatever you have to so your babies can eat.

I loved what Reagan did in Ca. He decided people on gonernment aid would actully have more pride if they did something for their checks. If people were able to work (not disabled) they had to do something. In some cases it was nothing more than dusting the parking meters in downtown Sacramento, but it was still something.

I will bet the majority of her meals are "take out" or "fast food". That will add up fast.

Don't even get me started on this one. When we lived in Sac during the mid 70s hubby had a good job, but I was a stay at home mom and we didn't have a lot of spendable income. We got paid only once a month (state government) so the first of each month I did most of the shopping for the entire month. I would shop for specials, go to the day old bakery for bread and goodies and use coupons. We ate a lot of hamburger, chicken and stew (stew meat was chreap in those days) I did a lot of my own canning during the summer. Luckily I loved to cook so we ate well on very little. One day I was standing in line at my favorite super market and the lady in front of me had steak, a birthday cake (from the bakery) sour cream and I don't remember what else in her cart. How did she pay? You got it, food stamps. OK it was someones birthday, she wanted to give them a nice dinner, but I would always bake our kids bd dakes. It was just the idea the blew my mind. Oh, she also had an avacado (they were not cheap in those days like they are today)

Pappa Murphy's Pizza accepts Food Stamps. It is not considered fast food, because you take the pie home and bake it. What a racket.
