Presidents and their families need vacations just like anyone else and with the amount of responsibility involved certainly deserve one. But, with that said, I do think this family is overdoing it. In these times, with so many people making sacrifices, it would behoove the Obama Family to not flaunt such extravagant trips. It just doesn't sit well. An attempt to cut costs would certainly help his image; although at this point, it may be useless - just like his lame attempts recently to find Christianity. The American People are not stupid. We've pretty much had it with this administration.

what is the point of this anyway. He has to have that for his security and safety. so you are complaining about the tax payers. what about all the pensions that tax payers pay to former political office holders that permanently get that until they die. what about all the taxes we pay for criminals to rot in jail. I can think of alot of things taxpayers pay well more for then vacation. Ummmm missles and bombs for afghanastan war?

Let this thread die!

I swear americans can be the dumbest people on the planet at times with as much as the complain about stuff.

LOL! "hometown?" Why didn't he stay with his relatives, then???

You did read the article, didn't you? There were a few, er, extraneous expenses there, in case you didn't notice. (Very ritzy hotel, Michelle's separate flight at a cost of over $60,000...

Tough times for the rest of the country. Just sayin...

Add 200 million per day on his last trip and I would say he has broke the bank this year with the spending on vacations.

I believe he needs a vacation but not every other month and not spending millions of dollars at the time when the economy is worse then any time since the depression.

I do not mind him taken a vacation with his family but this spending and amount of vacations is way over the line.

People living in tents and going hungry and he goes and spends millions on a vacation.

His judgment is very poor to say the least.
