A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 28% of Adults say the shooting in Arizona was the result of political anger in the country. Fifty-eight percent (58%) say instead that it was a random act of violence by an unstable person. Fourteen percent (14%) are undecided.

But I agree with many individuals, including Sheriff Dupnik, that the partisanship and rhetoric have exceeded responsible limits, and that we, as a people, should demand that our political leaders, elected or not, should ALL be more responsible about what they say, and how they say it.
Why? Has anything occured because of something a political leader has said? Care to share?

This makes me happy. At least the citizens are sane, if the politicians aren't.

Anyone who believes that George Bush has not weathered his fair share of contemptible insults has been living under a rock for the last 10 years.

Does anyone recall a memorial service, tee shirts, scripture readings by the Attorney General, and standing ovations for the 12 soldiers killed and 31 injured at Ft. Hood? I'm sure there must have been one, but I missed it.

Was there a televised memorial like this one?

I do remember memorial services, and a moment of silence. I'm sorry you think the military commanders didn't handle this tragedy in the way you would have liked, but the people who made the decisions regarding the rampage at Ft Hood did make their decisions in a way they determined to be the most respectful to honor our fallen soldiers.
