If I recall correctly, a corporation takes its gross earnings, minus its costs, and that's the profit.
And of that profit, some is distributed as dividends - which the recipient pays a tax on.
And some of that profit is re-invested into the company - expanding, building, buying back stock, etc. Which increases economic activity - and aid prosperity.

And you think that they should pay MORE taxes, so they can spend less on re-investment, or paying their investors?

Who do you think will spend money wisely?
[] Government
[] Private enterprise

If you think that government spends money wisely, then it is obvious that we should take more and more from those STUPID private enterprises.

But I suspect that most Americans are well aware that when it comes to wise spending, that excludes the government, hands down.

Do not let ENVY mislead you to attack the wrong target.

The ENEMY of America is collectivist pirates (socialists / communists / marxists).
From the Communist manifesto:
"In this sense, the theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single sentence: Abolition of private property."
But American law protects private property

Amendment V, US Constitution 1789
... nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
Communism, Socialism, and Marxism abolish private property ownership and replaces it with collective ownership, with the superior rights in the State.

I don't think we, the people, really want that - do we?

These corporations made a profit by selling you a bridge!

Too funny, Umm no. All companies pass along their costs of making goods. For example, when the cost of wheat goes up, so does the cost of your pizza.

How much lower than $0 can taxes paid by corporations go?

If you lower the tax rate, there will be more revenue.

On another similar thread, I pointed to the fact that their products are taxed at incredibly high rates.

Gasoline, for instance.

Does that not compute?

So again what is your point? How does this refute the OP which is titled "US. Uncut nearly two thirds of corporations pay no income tax".

No these companies made a profit by selling goods and services for more than it cost them to make the good or provide the service.

I can't believe you referenced your own post. I have debunked the Exxon income tax issue. I am sure the rest of your numbers are as accurate.

Makes sense to me. That production will simply shift to domestic suppliers.

You're kidding right? Do you only read thread titles? How about the quote contained therein?
