I am not found of either of them. However, the sense of American pride somehow disappeared when Obama became president. I do not see him in for a second term.

Opinion is not fact. A significant number of P&OC poster's do not think much of Obama... as a person, or as a President. AFAIK none are in positions of influence in Washington and to date none have been effective in doing anything to affect Obama's continued leadership of the country. So much for opinion. When the predictions about his chances in 2012 get posted I always offer to make it interesting. No one ever takes me up on it. What, is it against TOS to make a healthy side wager on the election?? Just asking.

Agreed, to a point. That's why President Carter tried to get The People in on the conversation about OIL/ENERGY (fireside chats). The People need to be on board so the clumsy Gov't doesn't have to push the issue. Policy could go smoothly, with less mistakes, if The People make the right decisions once in a a while.

sorry ds, but that is like nice totalitarianism. ie i will try to convince you of the benefits of solar. if all efforts to convince you fail, i will force you. real choice is what the people need. the problem is that we don't ever present people with the real costs

Carter was an ineffective president that loved America. Obama is an ineffective president who loves Europe.

I know I certainly will not hold it against any future black candidates because of Barack just as I wouldn't hold it against any future whites becuase of Clinton.

I'll give BO his due.

He is the first black president, and that is something America has needed for a very long time.

I look forward to replacing him with a competent black president.
