I try to stay away from MSM cherry picking headlines and read the BLS report directly.
Here is the BLS release:

Employment Situation Summary

"Nonfarm payroll employment increased by 192,000 in February, and the unemployment rate was little changed at 8.9 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Job gains occurred in manufacturing, construction, professional and business services, health care, and transportation and warehousing.
..
The number of long-term unemployed (those jobless for 27 weeks or more)
was 6.0 million and accounted for 43.9 percent of the unemployed."

Well now....for all those asking when the GOP would be creating jobs....here you go!

Since the GOP House has put a stop to most of obama's unpopular radical leftist agenda, created a little more certainty for business and individuals with the extension of the Bush tax rates and have taken on the job-killing EPA and obamacare, we have seen a rebound in the economy.

I expected more out of you. By your logic, can you explain why the unemployment rate dropped to 9% before the Republicans did anything?

(and what have they done exactly? Brought styrofoam back to the Capitol and passed a bunch of show-boat bills that they knew had no prayer of getting beyond the House. Strong leadership...)

That seems to align well with the MSM headline. Great news for us all. Let's hope the momentum that's been going for well over a year keeps picking up steam.

Probably the single biggest Republican effect was to force Obama to extend the tax structure. It sent a signal to business that there was a counter balance to Obama's clearly anti business bent.

Bluefly,do you think the supposed drop is the result of the Obama administration actions?

What I find funny is that now the rate dropped it's a success for the GOP, but had the rate increased, it would have been Obama's fault.
