nice, watch thyroid cancer in young children and babies spike 10000% from this and new born babies come out deformed.. Real nice. Japan should be dumping cement and lead on this thing NON-STOP 24-7 until it's sealed and no longer a threat to anyone. Carry on, nothing to see here, big Bro is taking care of us..

Seriously, calm down Francis. The hyperbole is getting a little out of hand, and I think we're more in danger from the infowars blogosphere than Japan's radiation. As justified by this....

So for further clarification, we interviewed Dan Chivers, a research scientist in the UC Berkeley Department of Engineering, which maintains the radiation data web site. In the interview, Chivers recapitulated the meaning of the data posted by his lab, stressing the negligible amount of radiation that has been measured to date.
Just one comparison made on the site: It would take 487 years of breathing air that contains the amount of Iodine-131 the lab measured on one particular day to equal the amount that an individual is exposed to on a single cross-country round-trip in an airplane.

What about children? Thyroid's in Children are what, 100x more sensitive to it than adults? What about drinking it, breathing it, eating it for months?

has a 100 day biological half-life once inside the human body.

Potentially cancer-causing radiation from Fukushima has been encircling the world, traveling quickly on jet streams high in the atmosphere and falling with precipitation like rain and snow. It is already being detected in air, water and milk in some parts of the United States by local and state agencies. For example, San Francisco rain water radiation levels exceeded federal drinking water thresholds by as much as 181 times recently. A radioactive isotope, such as iodine-131, is supposed to have a half-life of eight days. This is inferred to mean that it breaks down quickly, and it quickly dissipates in the environment. However, the 8 day half-life can be a misnomer because radioactive iodine can really persist in the environment for many months and has a 100 day biological half-life once inside the human body.

12,000 more tons= 3,000,000 more gallons of radioactive water coming our way..yummy.

According to United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reports, "radiation monitors continue to confirm that no radiation levels of concern have reached the United States." The EPA has taken steps to increase the level of nationwide monitoring of precipitation, drinking water, and other potential exposure routes, but the levels of radiation detected to date are "hundreds of thousands to millions of times below levels of concern." The radiation will have dissipated long before it reaches America, but I think somebody should begin to test all seafood from the pacific soon.

Yes, and they also claim that Mercury and Sodium Fluoride are good for you too.

Don't besmirch Texas with such inane nonsense as quoting mainstream news and government propaganda .... most Texans are familiar enough with bull excrement to recognize it when they see it.

Science is absolutely clear about the dangers posed to biological life from radioactive particulate, and it simply doesn't fit with the bureaucratic BS being foisted on a hopelessly dumbed down moronic populace, and we don't need anyone perpetuating the problem.

Some of the deception coming from these criminals is to quote figures of "safe" radiation levels in terms of EXTERNAL exposure ..... NOT INTERNAL ... as in radioactive particulate that might be consumed or inhaled ... of which there is NO SAFE LEVEL .....period.

Calm down, Francis. I-131 has an eight day radioactive half-life. Combine that with a 100 day biological half-life and we're talking a total effective half-life just over a week. (You divide the product by the sum. 100 X 8/ 100 + 8= 7.407 days.)

Now how much of that does it take to trigger thyroid cancer in an infant? Toddler? An adult? Baby in the womb of a mother? And how about consuming this for months and months, does it buildup to higher levels within the body?
100% of doctors agree that no level of exposure(consumption) is safe for humans. I love how the gov't and media use the word "safe" when referring to consumption of radiated water and food.
