It's quite an assumption to think that only Republicans lost friends and family on 9/11, and wouldn't rejoice that the mastermind is dead. One may be against unnecessary wars, like Iraq, while still supporting our military in the war on terrorism. If not for hatred, the GOP would be extinct.
but i see that you have now given up on afghanistan and moved into iraq. no surprise there
Here is the post where you went off-topic; I merely responded. FYI, bin Laden wasn't killed in Afghanistan...Bush failed to get him there. Bin Laden was killed in Pakistan, got it? And I don't shriek, in spite of having to deal with poorly-informed or illogical posts.
I am glad that there is not universal slobbering and cheering for this hollow victory that America has achieved. There have been several posts in other threads like #3 and #5 in this one that make me realize that not everyone is without a clue. More people than I realize share my viewpoint that there really is nothing to celebrate here. We had more than settled the 911 score with the multi-hundred thousand odd dead in the M.E. since the start of American operations there. And it was/is wrong. They were innocent civilians for the most part. But, so be it, they died... are dying. Has it brought one of the 911 victims back? Now that would be newsworthy.
Ending the need for people to resort to terrorism in the first place would make our country a special place.
Killing millions and spending trillions we don't have to get one convenient patsy makes our country a stupid place.
Personally, I would have sent his body into outer space. I think the biggest kick in the balls would be if bin Laden knew his body was not being disposed of according to his "beloved" muslim tradition. The religion he dedicated his life for, murdered others, and died for, and doesn't even get buried according to tradition. Whoops.

Exactly, now get a load of this:

CAIRO -- Muslim clerics said Monday that Osama bin Laden's burial at sea was a violation of Islamic tradition that may further provoke militant calls for revenge attacks against American targets.
Although there appears to be some room for debate over the burial – as with many issues within the faith – a wide range of senior Islamic scholars interpreted it as a humiliating disregard for the standard Muslim practice of placing the body in a grave with the head pointed toward the holy city of Mecca.
Sea burials can be allowed, they said, but only in special cases where the death occurred aboard a ship.
Bin Laden's burial at sea "runs contrary to the principles of Islamic laws, religious values and humanitarian customs," said Sheik Ahmed al-Tayeb, the grand Imam of Cairo's al-Azhar mosque, Sunni Islam's highest seat of learning.

UNBELIEVABLE. He should have been fed to the sharks at Sea World.
I'd be happy if America was defined worldwide as a country you shouldn't F**K with as IT WILL get back at ya!
I think that was probably Osama's attitude as well. Keep F**king around in our world and we will get back at you!
Somehow it's more righteous when we say it
