Yup, that's my WHOLE point. That level of DETAIL of the interrogations has NOT been released - so to claim that "harsh techniques (waterboarding or whatever) is to credit for it" is not backed up by any facts. It MAY prove to eventually be shown to be the case (or not) - but as of NOW there is NO EVIDENCE to make that claim.

Liberalism no longer wanted?

Dream on!

How big a margin did Obama win by over McCain?

It's only Right Wing extremists like you (Lambaugh, Savage, Hannity, etc) who think that way.

Liberalism is alive and well ... and will kick your guys butt in 2012 just like we did in 2008 !!!

Oh Please. He's been dead for years! It was a FAKE announcement designed to boost Obama's approval rating (as if it would make anything better which it wouldn't). Bin Laden had late stages kidney disease on 9/ll. The videos were fake SpyTalk - CIA unit's wacky idea: Depict Saddam as gay

You must stop being naiive like I was a half dozen years ago. Wake up and realize you've been lied to by the media and the government about many many things ALL of which are easily proven if you just do the slightest amount of research.

The 2008 election wasn't about issues; it was American Idol.
Also, few people were paying attention and knew what Obama was all about.

YES! We spent 10 years, trillions of dollars, two+ wars, thousands of dead soldiers, thousands of dead innocent civilians, a complete and utter disregard of the Constitution, a loss of precious civil liberties, but we FINALLY (did what we should have just done in the first damn place) tracked down and killed the boogey man that WE created decades ago.

What? You hate freedoms and want the terrorists to win! USA! USA! USA!

I know the TRUTH hurts, but without Bush's policies and intelligence programs, this would not have been possible. You see, the information was obtained through enhanced interrogation techniques....you remember those, don't you? The ones the Left and obama railed about?
Bush is no longer the president. He can't take credit.

You keep on missing the "news" that the intelligence gleaned about these couriers came from 2007, during Bush's time, came from those enhanced interrogation techniques the Left and obama railed against...remember?

Bus laid the foundation for obama. Without those programs in place, programs the Left wanted to do away with and send Bush to prison for, the death of OBL would not have been possible.

You should thank the one who allowed this to happen.

That is what happened. The name was spilled in one of those secret prisons the Left criticized, using some of that "enhanced interrogation" the Left criticized and then it took another 2 years to piece together more information and then catch a CALL by wiretapping, which the Left criticized, that eventually led the US forces to his door.

The Left/obama were WRONG every step of the way.
There was PLENTY of enhanced interrogation going on. The CIA had been looking for information on his closest circle of confidants for years, so when they finally got his name, they KNEW right then and there how important it was.
Right. Which is why bin Laden was killed under Obama's watch.

I guess some don't realize how arduous it can be to piece together shreds of evidence and intelligence. The CIA was on the case, not Bush. It took them that long to piece together this guys name and where he was.

It is a FACT, based on the numerous reports and articles that have come out. Have you read ANY of them?

Bin Laden Captured Through Detective Work - NYTimes.com

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM), who was repeatedly subjected to methods including “waterboarding” and stress positions, provided the CIA with the name of bin Laden’s personal courier, according to US officials.

A second source – also an al-Qaeda “leader” held at Guantanamo Bay – then confirmed the courier’s identity, sparking an intense manhunt that resulted in the dramatic final raid.

Both KSM and al-Libi were subjected to harsh techniques during their interrogations in CIA prisons
I'm not sure why you continue to argue the point.

Rumsfeld Exclusive: There Was No Waterboarding of Courier Source

"Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld tells Newsmax the information that led to the killing of Osama bin Laden was obtained through “normal interrogation approaches” and says the notion that terrorist suspects were waterboarded at Guantanamo Bay is a “myth.”
Only three detainees were waterboarded. However, enhanced interrogation techniques were used to obtain the information 4 years ago.

You can credit that wall Gorelic and Clinton built regarding putting the dots together on their flying habits. The CIA was working this thread since 2007, it took that long to find his real name and hideout.

BUSH WAS WARNED BIN LADEN WANTED TO HIJACK PLANES - NYTimes.com
That old lie dredged up again? The PDB of Aug 2001 doesn't mention flying planes into buildings, only they wanted to hijack to gain the release of the blind sheik. I would have thought that FACT would have sunk in by now.

Yes, I remember quite well that we railed against WARRANTLESS WIRETAPS that completely eliminated the FISA courts, given that we have in place a perfectly easy way to wiretap suspected terrorists and get the FISA courts to issue a warrant after the fact.

The truth continues to elude you.
The articles from above, which obviously you have not read, mention enhanced interrogation techniques were used on the detainees. The Left was shrieking about both for years. They also shrieked about the wiretapping. All of the above were key programs and policies put in place by Bush that facilitated the killing of OBL.

That is just a TRUTH you cannot run from, but maybe you should actually read the timeline, the details from even one of the articles from above. I'll just bold some for you and even so you don't miss it....again.

The trail that led to bin Laden’s hideout in the town of Abbottabad, about 75 miles north of Islamabad, began between 2002 and 2004 with the CIA’s interrogation of al-Qaeda “high-value targets” at secret CIA sites overseas. Several detainees mentioned the “nom de guerre,” or nickname, of one of bin Laden’s couriers.

Some of the detainees who confirmed the courier’s nickname were subjected to “enhanced interrogation techniques,” the CIA’s formal name for what is now widely viewed as torture.
Remember, you're talking about multiple sources that knew his name. Some were subjected to enhanced interrogation, others were not.

"One courier in particular had our constant attention," the official said. He declined to give that courier's name but said he was a protégé of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and a "trusted assistant" of Abu Faraj al-Libbi, a former senior al Qaeda officer who was captured in 2005.

"Detainees also identified this man as one of the few couriers trusted by bin Laden," the official said. The U.S. intelligence community uncovered the identity of this courier four years ago, and two years ago, the U.S. discovered the area of Pakistan this courier and his brother were working in.
To all those insinuating nothing was done after learning the pseudo-name of the courier....I guess you're wrong. The CIA was working it all along.

Same can be said - why did it take two years to act?

No injury or permanent damage is done.

In SERE school it happens sometimes but some SEALs never go to SERE.
