Obama extended an invitation to GWB to join him at Ground Zero Thursday, and there are reports that Bush turned him down.
Here was a FANTASTIC oportunity for the two presidents most directly involved in the hunt for Bin Laden, to stand together at the site of the attack, and put our bitter partisanship aside for a moment, in a gesture of national unity, healing and closure, and to demonstrate to the world that when the chips are down, we stand united.
And Bush turned him down?

That's why we cannot even see unity during this moment in our history.
I believe Georgie had many balls but No scruples to pull off something like this. Fact is he got off task. He chose to invade a country who had done nothing to us directly. They invaded quwait and we went barging in and didnt finish the job we really should never have started, so bush has to make daddy proud and one up the old man and get saddam even though OUR PRIORITY WAS iN AFGHANISTAN and BIN LADEN. Bush dragged us onto some savior mission for people who hated us. Yet he let darfur drag on and didnt go after N Korea. Gee funny how he picked IRAQ based on lies and hearsay without having them due better research to be SURE those invisible WMDs really were there, either that or it was an excuse for him. Anyway you cut it he was an irresponsible leader and that is something Obama has managed to avoid.

History is in the past, you know that right? You can't rewrite it. The truth is just what I posted. Bush led us astray, Obama focused on the real enemy and the results speak for themselves.

I have been very impressed with how Bush has constantly stayed out of politics and does not comment on Obama and the mess he has made.
You are very wrong. We on the Left appreciate the way classy Bush is handling his retirement and it's in keeping with tradition. Past presidents never criticize their immediate predecessor. They are usually almost a decade out of office before they wade back into the arena of public opinion.
