I propose to make the date of Osama's death a National Holiday. The passing of such an evil man deserves celebration, and as a day of rememberance for all those he has murdered. It also sends a message to terrorist-supporting azzhats that we won't surrender our freedoms to their actions. Kind of a big finger to those that would murder innocent people.
Two questions...
Which day is would it be? It was reported here on Sunday, the first. But in Pakistan, due to time changes, I believe he was actually killed on the 2nd.
What ideas do you have for a suitable tradition for celebration? We have fireworks for the 4th, parades for Thanksgiving, football for New Years, chocolate bunnies for easter. We need something more in keeping with the event...I'm trying to come up with ideas.
The bolded is my favorite part of the OP. It's absurd.
No national holiday. You can commemorate the day privately each year if you want. Maybe send a few cases of beer or bottles of champaigne to the US special forces training centers and to the CIA. Personally I like to celebrate all Muslim holidays by eating pork ribs. (Like anyone really needs an excuse to eat good BBQ ribs, right?)

What kind of person wants to celebrate death of another. Now ur just like him when he clapped at our towers falling.
Can you explain to me just how Osama is comparable to the approximately 3000 innocent people that died on 9/11? Cause I just ain't making the connection.
Celebrating bringing a mass murdering terrorist to justice isn't the same as celebrating the murder of innocent people.
we celebrate life and those who have advanced the cause of freedom. we do not celebrate bringers of death....not even the death of such.
the date of UBLs death should be a footnote in history and should stand as a stark reminder to all who would seek to do harm to Americans.
but it should not be celebrated.
