I propose to make the date of Osama's death a National Holiday. The passing of such an evil man deserves celebration, and as a day of rememberance for all those he has murdered. It also sends a message to terrorist-supporting azzhats that we won't surrender our freedoms to their actions. Kind of a big finger to those that would murder innocent people.

Two questions...

Which day is would it be? It was reported here on Sunday, the first. But in Pakistan, due to time changes, I believe he was actually killed on the 2nd.

What ideas do you have for a suitable tradition for celebration? We have fireworks for the 4th, parades for Thanksgiving, football for New Years, chocolate bunnies for easter. We need something more in keeping with the event...I'm trying to come up with ideas.

Yeah, OK. That's a real smart idea. I would like to know what other holidays we have specifically honoring the killing of a person (and no, military "holidays" like D-Day, VJ Day, 4th of July, and Veterans Day don't count).

You celebrate ends to wars, not killing of leaders. I mean, really?

Disagree. Infamy is what he sought and it should not be granted. The quicker the scum of this earth disappear the better.

Lets give him his due and all the government agencies that benefited from his existence could hold job fairs on the same day!

and how about Husain's execution or the ending of WW2? No, absolutely not. I do hope we remember the date for many years to come, but we do not need any national holidays to celebrate someone's assassintion. I am not sorry he is dead, I am glad our military finally got the job done, my heart goes out to them, but no national holiday for heavens sake.
