Watch this short video of a school board meeting, in which a woman is reading excerpts from a textbook said to be used in at least 5 ethnic studies curriculums in Tuscon. The book is used to teach children as young as 3rd grade. The profanity and calls for overthrowing the government are particularly disturbing. (Content Warning)
I don't think this is what most people imagine "Ethnic Studies" is about. It is not teaching children about their ancestors' culture. This is a radical political agenda, if ever there was one. Another example of public school indoctrination and obscene use of children to further a political cause.

Reason: spelling correction
Did you hear that idiot school board member chastise the speaker for using inappropriate language that she was READING out of text book used for ethnic studies. He needs to be tarred feathered and run out of town on a rail. As an American of Latino heritage I find this absolutely disgusting and morally reprehensible. Who ever approved the use of that text book should be fired. Radical socialism is alive and well in your public schools folks. Time to root out the Communist Revolutionaries again in this country. I say start with the SEIU and Teachers Unions.

When I saw the face of that white haired board member at the reading of the slang words found in the book used to tear at capitalism I knew just what he was going to say about reading those words from the book. Somehow we have to get more real about how things like this are handled. If those words can be read by kids in those schools surely they can stand to hear someone else read the same words.
This is more than sad but is a great example of what is being done in our pubic schools.

You are hilarious, really. The issues facing TUSD are huge, and go back to the beginning of the year. Sorry, but posting some random sound bite without adding what is going on in that school district is odd. I know you just like to find fault with every public school distict, that's your MO, but really, this district is imploding. If you want an intellectually honest conversation about what is going on there, then fine, but this reactionary nonsense is silly.

This is unbelievable.
The most shocking part is when the city council stopped her from reading the 3rd grade book because of the language and they might have kids in the audience.
