A greater % of women than men believe abortion should be illegal in All circumstances, 24%-19%.
I think rabid choicers must hang around other rabid choicers, so don't have a sense of how many women are against abortion, at least in theory.
Like I said, the biggest percentage of staunch anti-abortionists are men, staunch being the caveate here.

Why no comment on my post about MI and AL laws being used to make women who have miscarried PROVE it was not intentional and then charging them with murder?
Abortion may be legal for now, however, if you believe a fetus will eventually become a human being you probably believe aborting it murder, murder happens to be a crime.
It appears more Americans are coming around to that view.
Abortion is NOT the same-sex marriage issue. I've known atheists who were pro-life and Christians who were pro-choice. Those who attack the pro-life movement saying its about religious domination couldn't be more wrong. That may be true for those who are anti-marriage equality but it does not apply to abortion.
It all comes down to whether you think the fetus is an individual human life. If it is, abortion is murder because it is the killing of human life. If not, then its just a part of the woman's body no different than a mole or pimple.
Earlier in this thread I stated that I believed most of the staunch anti-abortion crowd are men. I said that I believed this is not about saving a fetus nearly as much as it is about controlling women. Well, these anti-abortionist have bombed clinics, murdered doctors and nurses and generally acted like what they are; controlling, nuts with an agenda, and that agenda ain't God.
Since they've failed to outlaw abortion completely they are now using alternative laws. Kansas tried to enact a law where clinics had to pass inspections that would have called for major changes and remodels (I think) but it had to be done within 2 days of the law passing. Of course, the clinics hve filed suite, and will win. In MI and AL they are forcing women who have had miscarriages to PROVE it was not intentional, or they charge her with murder. Guess who these ______ Christians have focused on? Women of color, women in poverty, and women on the streets. These are women who generally won't draw much attention of concern from the "good people", the "Christian" people.
This anti-abortion campaign was started by a MAN, and it continues to be mainly pushed by MEN, because this is all about CONTROL over women.
Every last woman should should stand up and fight these fake Christians, these 'men' who are afraid of real women. Fight to protect the innocent women of color and women of low income in MI and AL who have fallen victim to these controlling, little men and fake Christians. Shut them down. Take them to court and send theis azzes to jail!
Bringing charges against a woman for having a miscarriage is barbaric.
I guess if you are a pregnant woman in MI or AL, and have any inkling that you could miscarry......you better abort as soon as possible to avoid possible criminal charges.
Any woman who is carrying a high risk pregnancy or is over 40 better abort or they could spend years in prison.
Where is the outcry about tax payer dollars being used to prosecute these women?
These people want women relegated to the role of subserviant breeding stock. Pathetic and disgusting.

After reading all of shorebaby's post one might think late-term abortions are some kind of extra curricular activity, not a life changing decision that the woman will probably struggle with for the rest of her life.
As un-PC as it is, when these states are mentioned, I think: ignorant, backwoods, rednecks.
