Even though Cain said he said not to deliver to the WORST parts of town, not to the whole area. Doesn't matter. His accent is too folksy and he's too personable to be labeled as a U-T by racists.
The writer of the article has commenced with the words "in a startling admission"; whaah?
He's not admitting at all, rather he's declaring his decision to consider the welfare of his employees at the time as being preferential to "political correctness".
My opinion of his thoughts while doing so would be something like this: "I know the likelyhood of harm coming to a young delivery driver in those areas is high but to deny the area pizzas would give the Jesse Jackson's and Al sharpton's a terrible leverage handle to beat me about the head with". "Well; I don't give a rat's patoot about those idiots welfare but I do have a care for these young emplyees so NO PIZZAS for an undeclared war zone!"
Ya gotta love this guy and others like Bill Cosby who say it like it is right out there for all to see as though daring an RPG attack from a rooftop but also saying; "bring it on homey"!
The previous poll on this subject had a supermajority (~2/3) saying it was racist, and the majority rules in the court of public opinion.
Back to the topic at hand. Is Cain a U-T for telling his drivers to avoid these areas?
Right, back to the topic. I wouldn't call Cain an Uncle Tom just because he wouldn't deliever pizzas to a certain area. I would call him a person who doesn't live up to the universal business practice of serving those who are willing to pay for his services.
Calling a black man an Uncle Tom would come from something a lot more serious. Not refusing to sell pizzas to certain neighborhoods isn't as bad as, say, locking up several INNOCENT blacks only to boost your resume as a politician.
