Is that really rational thinking?

You can do better than that.
You seemed to be an educated citizen.

An old saying comes to mind, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Let me give you an example.

Lets say we privatize the USDA. Now the company that is doing it can make a profit from one of two things.

1. Downsizing and simplification

or

2. Increased scrutiny.

The first would likely lead to more outbreaks of disease and make food dangerous. The second would cause food prices to increase to such a level that no one wants.

Thats the thing with private corporations, they want to make as much profit, with as little amount of work as is required.

For many of the government programs I listed, that would be a bad thing. I know government has a lot of waste, and we as tax payers can demand that this waste be cut, but private corporations have proven themselves untrustworthy in this country. Thats because they don't serve you, they only serve themselves.
Total nonsense. If food companies sell food that leads to outbreaks of disease they will quickly be out of business. Plus, why exactly do you think people want to harm others?

And if the prices go to high then people stop buying food altogether or limit how much they buy to a minimum. Or someone comes in and sells it cheaper. The food companies that charge too much go out of business.

Either way you are wrong.

And you are freaking crazy if you think the purpose of government is to serve you. They only serve themselves.

july 4th was based on FREEDOM...not TYRANNY and taxation by the government
We were talking about government... remember the slogan back then was... "no taxation without representation", NOT "no taxes" or "no representation (government).

Government does cause poverty.

Look at places like Somalia, with no government it has become one of the most wealthy countries with almost full employment and no poverty.

That's the government for you, they keep the poor alive with things like welfare and medical treatment when they could just die and reduce the poverty rates that way. It would certainly cost less then actually helping these things.

when a MAJORITY of people doent want something (like obamycare) yet it is FORCED upon us with the ADDED cost of NEW TAXES

the FACT is we spend 3.7 trillion a year when we could spend less than 2 trillion

the FACT is we (from EVERY LEVEL (federal AND state AND local, and all other inclusive taxes) are taxed enough already

Yeah, because that worked so well before the USDA.

Perhaps you should read about food standards before we nationalized it.

Government DOES suck money from the private sector for use in the public sector. Now if anyone thinks that the government can allocate and manage capital better than the private sector, they have not been paying attention for the last couple of hundred years.

This is what we call a type II logic error. Unfortunately, most liberals "reason" with type II logic errors.
