Someone driving a range rover is saying look at me, I can afford to keep this vehicle and keep it moving.
I thought that the LandRover and Range Rover were two different types of SUVs.

For years when I lived on Long Island NY I drove a 20 year old Chevelle with visible scratches and fender dings that conveyed a don't give a s**t take no prisoners attitude. A guy who was quite willing to trade paint or bump draft on the expressways in and around the City. Add to that an apprearance like Lt Belker on the Hill Street Blues that gave the impression the driver was short a full deck, fellow drivers tended to give me the right of way.

They are two different makes. Different types of SUV? Not so much.

By driving a 148 year old Subaru with home made door patches and a 10 year old Buick I obviously am not trying to project any image at all. I'm just an old white bearded guy driving an old car.

Luxury Foreign CAr , BMW 7 series etc. - They want everyone to know that they have money, whether they actually have money or not.

Prius - the main statement is I am not a Redneck. They could also be saying I am environmentally conscious. They are not saying that I am practical, because despite the savings in gas you still have to pay more for the car than you save in gas.

Subaru Outback - You are saying I am liberal, but I like to get out there are have fun, whether you actually do or not.

Honda Accord - You are saying, that I don't care about status. I am more practical.

Suburban or Mega SUV - You are telling me people that you are an idiot. It does not matter if it will fit in a parking space and only gets 8 miles to the gallon. Usually driven by women who have Penis envy.

Mustang - Corvette - Modern day muscle car - What you are trying to tell people is that you are manly or a bad ass woman. What people actually receive is that you are probably compensating for having a small wanker or the fact that you are 5'2.

Thoughts.

I drive a jeep..Im tough and independant and loyal..
But my dream car is a truck..a big a$$ lifted truck..and no I'm not a proud red neck..I'm hispanic...Everyone should be proud of who they are.
Your analogy of the car you drive subject, isn't even accuruate..
Are you on the bus?

a car says something about a person, i'll grant that. however that doesn't mean a person is trying to make a statement.
