I could support a balanced budget amendment if it wasn't the one the GOP is pushing right now. If they changed the amendment to allow for spending cuts and tax increases to both take place with only a simple majority, then I'm all for it. I can't support the current GOP balanced budget amendment.

Now who is REALLY being the CHILD here?
again, raising taxes will not increase revenues to the government, quite the opposite in fact. it has been shown time and time again.

Did Obama run out and give the thumbs up to the press and scream "winning"? He is acting awfully like a nut who did just that. Between the little things like not knowing the date and big things like this,I'm a little concerned the guy has a problem.....,,,,,

Default Debt ceiling options

Option 1 = raise debt ceiling - which pays for debt already incurred and negotiate budget seperately.

Option 2 = Condition the raising with cuts and tax increases

Option 3 = Don't raise the debt ceiling and send the economy into a depression.

Those are your choices. Pick one.

Obama does have a problem, he's negotiating with spoiled brats who are throwing a fit because they can't get 100% of what they want. That's the problem. That's the frustration.

$400 Billion a year....from a budget of $4 Trillion? Please.

So...another leftist advocating a huge tax increase right in the middle of this abysmal obama recovery. When will you people learn...never works, makes it worse.

Meaning when all the wealth concentrates in the hands of a few the pitchforks, bats, computers, visa cards, DVDs, tools, etc will be used to kill them. It won't be guns because they'll make sure you don't have those when it gets to that point.

The sad part is that the rich people didn't steal the wealth from them. The poor people literally ran in droves to wally world to give it to them.

The only logical conclusion is an equilibrium and that just isn't going to happen. Humans with the ability to take in more resources are the compressor (no, not oppressor) in the HVAC system. They'll try to concentrate the energy (money) within themselves. They'll have to spit that back out in order to keep order. If they don't, the energy (money) will concentrate and the compressor (the rich people) and it will go out on high pressure overload (like a blockage at the metering device).

But if compromise is what it takes, how about we put obamacare on the table? That's the kind of compromise people would get behind.
Repealing the Affordable Care Act would add to the deficit.
