The 20 mil a year IS paying more money than the $20k a year person.. but they are equally contributing.
I don't think the rich need to have tax cuts and tax breaks, but at the same time I don't think we need to NOT tax the "low income" either. Both sides want special treatment, all while the middle class pays the bills.

Equal tax PERCENTAGE for everyone.
That is such bull. 4000 to a person making 20000 a year is wayyyyyy more of a burden than 4000000 to someone making 20000000. Yet the stupid 20000 a year white southerner well vote for it everytime.

I really don't want to pay ANY taxes. But I'm willing to pay a small amount extra for the greater good. Most people I know who are my position, are willing to pay a small amount more in taxes.

Sorry, I make good money because I went to excellent schools and got a good education & even better connections. I'll be damned if I don't put my future kids through those same schools so they can have the same opportunities I had.
Get used to the response, when faced with actual facts, the leftists here will show they really just don't care because, well when all is said and done,it is being done to someone else...

You do know you can voluntarily pay more right?

So go ahead, start a movement and pay down the deficit.

This is from Why So Many Rich People Don't Feel Very Rich - NYTimes.com. I've posted it before in response to the '$250K isn't rich' claim...and then the thread goes dead.

Look at it this way - if your highschool age child scored in the top 95% percentile or better on his ACTs or SATs, would you call your kid average?

So why do we insist on calling those who make $250K+ a year 'middle class'?
Look at it this way: if my high school kid scored in the top 95% with a 95 on an exam, and the top 1% scored a 50,000 on the exam (or 526x what he scored) I would not consider him rich. On the graph you posted it is obvious that cutting off at 250,000 is a stupid idea, why not 2 million? Why not 150,000? Where did this arbitrary cutoff come from?

None of this will make a dent in the debt in this country anyway. The only way to really reduce the debt is to shut down military bases overseas, and cut government departments and seriously reduce spending.

It is pointless actually trying to reason with people whose beliefs are based on envy and selfishness.

Not all of us. I used to be poor. And I used to be middle class. So I'm here to tell you, there is another choice besides "fighting back." You can also figure out how to be of value to the rest of society by providing some needed good or service, and make the big bucks too. Or keep on posting about the Green monster, envy. Your choice.

Fascinating that you who complained about not being able to afford your cell phone plan in another thread would take the position that those of us making a quarter-million or more per year shouldn't have our tax breaks repealed. We're not talking about new taxes. We're talking about a repeal of tax reduction legislation that was never meant be permanent.

I volunteer my money to church and my alma mater. I just pay my taxes. Dumb argument BTW...
