How? Ron Paul does good in all of these straw poll types of events and then does nothing in actually contests.
We haven't HAD any "actual" contests yet. Wait until the primaries!
As far as I'm concerned Ron Paul won the IOWA straw poll generously. If you watched the flimsy way they showed the results of that poll on CNN like I did, you'd agree. They announced Michele won then started off with Pawlenty's numbers and went down form there. Minutes later they showed a number for Bachman. They never showed one for Ron Paul until he was included in the final complete list showing the "scatter number" which would have put him over the top and there were 56 votes beyond that that weren't even mentioned.
So who are the 'political experts'? the people with a D after their name and the people who vote for people with a D after their name?
Democrats took the biggest bashing ever last November and it wasn't because of a minority tea party.
Thats actually a fantastic point. Tea Partiers can have a 1% approval rating, but most of the population dont vote based upon what the Tea Partiers believe. We can share a common interest and still vote out the incompetent fools running Washington.

Actually the answer to that one should be obvious for anyone familiar with the process.
In order to vote in the straw polls, you have to pay. Ron Paul has more people willing to pay to support him than others, but that doesnt mean most of society is supporting him.
Problem with your linked article is it makes the assumption the Tea Party reined in Congress. Conservative Tea Party members of Congress are a minority within the Republican party so they ruled nothing. However, long time Washington insiders (tax and spend of both parties) are the majority. One last thing,...why didn't democrats pass a budget while they had the majority of both houses and the White House?
"Tea party" is just another name for simple-minded anti-intellectuals. Unfortunately, there are many millions of them in America, and they will continue to play a significant role - especially in the Republican Party. They don't like science, they don't like education, and they don't like government. They're a rather pathetic bunch because their only solution to our problems is "less government", and they seem to believe that all new ideas are based on conspiracies by the "liberal elite". Constructive thinking is not in their playbook.
Hello mr. Biggot. Shooting off your mouth to espouse your elitist views looking down on those you know nothing about must inflate your ego.
Did anyone see the words in the link, very near the beginning, that make the whole argument so irrelevant? I have taken those words out of the link so people can see them easier. Here they are:
the failure of President Obama and House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to reach a grand bargain to reduce the deficit;
These words tell me just how foul and actually illegal that whole deal was. When the President and the head of one house of Congress are trying to make a compromise I see rules being broken. The President is allowed, even encouraged, to suggest legislation but he is not supposed to be meeting with the leaders of the two parties in the White House to work on legislation. They avoided the method of suggesting bills completely when they worked this one out with the heads of both parties and the President doing all the work. Not one minute of debate was held before the votes and this is obviously what Obama likes so well since everything he gets passed comes at the last minute when something has to be done. Compromise comes between members of either house and then between members of each house meeting after each votes.
This old crap of waiting to the last minute is making me very tired because it is obviously nothing but a method used by establishment politicians of both parties to hurry things up.
Doesn't anybody but me see this crap happening? It was Obama who killed that Grand Bargain when he asked for $400 billion more than the $800 billion the GOP had agreed to. Why don't I ever see anyone from the MSM or the left leaners here speak to that problem? Oh yes, I know why.
That is a laughable leftist myth. Sorry, I have been to TEA Party rallies and have seen no racist signs. Don't spread lies to further your political point of view. It is reprehensible.
A random sign is hardly representative of the TEA Party. Maybe you don't understand that TEA stands for "Taxed Enough Already" and has nothing to do with race.

And add to that the fact that there were liberal democrats who were going to the Tea Party rallies with such signs to try to make the Tea party look bad for the news cameras.
