Like the Negro scholarship... No whites allowed... Fair?.... Absolutely not.
Ah, the United Negro College Fund does not, let me repeat, DOES NOT, discriminate against students of any race, creed, nationality or religion.
The UNCF was founded in 1944 when African Americans COULD NOT attend segregated colleges so the Fund was establish to support the historically black colleges which for the most part were in the south. Today the UNCF still helps fund those same colleges which have always been open to any student that qualified regardless of race.
Do many non-White's even own businesses? I wouldn't mind if a company decided to refuse service. I'd just order the product online or go to another restaurant.
I do because most of the world is kinda recognizing who whites really are and are steering clear of them at all costs, and if african americans had any sense they would too.
The most powerful nation in the world "China" is doubling down in Africa. They are investing trillions in Africa and it's only april now. Other countries see how this country treats it's leader because of his pigmentation. They know they are dealing with the same tyrant of old. For some reason our elected leaders as well as the rest of this country think that this is all in house but it's on a global stage for the world to see and what most people see should be embarassing to this country but old habits die hard.
I think its illegal to have discriminatory practices like that. There are ways around it though. In some places the business reserves the right not to provide business to people.
Whether it's illegal or not I don't think they should be allowed to have a no whites (or any color for that matter) policy.
Instead of getting into pissing contests with each other, wouldn't it be easier to say, "Let's not let businesses discriminate for whatever reason" and move on?
although this is a extremely stupid thread,,,I guess its to combat the one started about blacks, but I will respond anyway. The UNITED NEGRO COLLEGE FUND are now awarded to ALL NATIONALITIES. The same as the Historically Black Colleges, they are now Integrated. Keep up man
I would love to see stats on how many white kids receive a UNCF scholarship? You want equality, then lets have it!
You should have the right to put any sign up you want if it is a privately owned business, the owner will suffer the consequences. This is a major issue I have with the 14th amendment, (property rights).
I've been refused entry to a bar because I was white. I'm sure the place still has a similar policy though I doubt it's ever tested because the place has gotten to be a very rough one.
This is another issue I have, blacks can and do walk into predominatly white establishments all of the time, but try to walk into a black bar and you will be harrased until you leave or maybe not walk out at all.
Didn't we finish this back in the 60's ??? It was a little
thing called "THE CIVIL. RIGHT'S MOVEMENT" And
did it not start over a sign ((in Kat's drug and sundries) that said" we reserve the right to refuse
service to anyone". Good or bad, the supreme court
declared it to be illegal. They said it discriminates
against every one.
I still see that sign in small stores. I think its a last
great act of defiance,
Here in Pa., under the liquor laws, drinking establishments have the right to refuse anyone for any reason. It gives them the flexibility to not serve alcohol to someone who appears to be intoxicated or may be causing trouble.
