Meanwhile more money handed out for "green" BS...

$12 million invested for green jobs | POLITICO 44

It's starting to appear that if you have the word green or clean in your company name you can get a governemnt loan.

Well hell, there are plenty of states that give out tax credits to homeowners for installing solar panels too.

Solyndra just goes in the tank for 500 million and now 700 to yet another one? It makes no sense.
They're hoping to be one of the those $23 billion/jobs.

Seriously with the Slyndra mess I don't see it so much as crony capitalism as it is a tendency for politicians who are not technically well versed to see solar and wind as our salvation. We have an example of that with our new governor of Vermont. If it were up to me we would abolish tax credits for wind and solar. Too many people have swallowed that snake oil. Investors and politicians jump on it, and some people actually think it is "clean" energy.

Yes agreed - for once!
You don't see it as crony capitalism? Olrighty then.

You're giving a pass, again, to politicians that share your ideology. They should understand the situation if they're going to give out taxpayer dollars. It's their freaking job.

Crony capitalism?
Are you really saying that when the DoE gets applications from loans from high tech "green" firms (let's not go into whether this is good or bad, since it is what it is right now and I don't happen to agree with the policy anyway), that they
- first check to see which investment companies have a stake in the firm and
- whether relatives of any prominent politicians are involved?

And only then do they grant the loan?

Or is it the other way around, say some aide to Peloso puts pressure on the reviewer at DoE to encourage them to approve certain loans , nudge nudge wink wink?

Honestly I am having a hard time believing either one. The first scenario is too construed, and the second is begging for a whistleblower to come out of the woodwork with real proof. Do you honestly think that if that wer the case, that no one at DoE or on the review panel would say anything? The junk article posted as "proof" - which even dragged the term "socialism" into the utterly misleading title I cannot take it seriously.

Nancy P is about as scummy as they come, and that's saying a lot when you're talking about the left.

So you're saying that

- it's purely coincidental that the loans are going to Pelosi relatives and Dem big-money donors?
- Someone in the DoE would turn them in, jeopardizing their careers?

I am just gobsmacked at the pretzels the Libs are twisting into, to justify this corruption.

They don't believe it. They are just like the people who bought the latest new toy car and discovered they bought a pile of crap but keep trying to convince everyone what a wise choice they made. It's the denial stage.

Nancy's brother in law, eh?

Ya know, just the other day I heard a United States government employee say that 'no one gets rich on their own'.
