Wrong. McCain would not have spent the US into oblivion, like obama has done.

Right. This is what happens with incompetent leadership. The same thing happened with Carter and then turned around when he was out of office. People said exactly what you are saying, yet were proven wrong in three years.

When Obama is out of office in 2013, alot of pent up capital will re-enter the markets. If the republicans can get through flat taxes for income as well as corporate taxes, repatriation of offshore funds, and a marked reduction in regulations, things will take off. It does not take a rocket scientist to understand that increased regulations and higher taxes kill an economy. Obama has just proven that to anyone who had prior doubts.

If NONE of the numbers are good then that's obviously cherrypicking. How about terrorists killed?

Agree that excessive regulations and taxes are counterproductive. But the major prerequisite for future economic growth is for losses on bad investments to be realized and personal balance sheets to be de-leveraged. We have only just hit the tip of the iceberg there. That is a slow process that takes years. Until that happens, confidence will not return to spur consumption and investment. The mere fact of another president coming in and lowering taxes on the rich will not make much of a difference - corporations are already at record historic levels up to their eyeballs in cash, both onshore and offshore. They are hoarding cash because they see the precarious state of the EU as well as demand at home, and they are fearing a second recession (which is probably going to happen).

Obama is not helping and probably needs to go, but people who think that just reducing taxes and regulations will suddenly make the "confidence fairy" appear and bring back happy times probably need to take a few economics courses. Bottom line is that we need consumer demand to heal and recover, which accounts for a good two thirds of GDP. And that cannot really be sped up by any government policy of any politician.

No, the Democrats do not control the Senate. They would if they could pass bills with 51 votes but they can't. Also even if they did control the Senate it wouldn't make any difference because the Republicans control the House as well as the Supreme Court

Yeah, I'm sure that was the whole reason that Americans elected Obama 3 years ago ... so that he could make excuse after excuse after excuse.

I don't even contemplate "who can beat Obama?" anymore.....my only thoughts are "he will be beat in 2012" no matter who the GOP nominates. The totality of the circumstances (not just the economy) dictates that he will be a One Termer. I have zero doubt whatsoever.

Just look how far every indicator has fallen under his leadership (lack of!).
Thanks for the info. Right none of the numbers are good, expect them to be with this deceptive economy. They would have us believe is turning around, but we know better.

For the most part, i do not see things greatly improving, writing is on the wall.

People want to live in a fairytale, let them, most of us those who were believers in Obama, are not skeptical of him.

I would love to see the numbers from 2007-2009? Can you Obama haters show those or are you too scared?
