After reading innumerable threads and comments regarding racial self-identification, lack of assimilation, and screeds about multiculturalism I thought to myself why is it that I've never read a thread or comment advocating the ending of the classification referred to as white? I mean if African American is so offensive because of its alleged inaccuracy then why not do a way with the term white, after all, white people are exactly white or anything close to it. So, in the hopes of bringing about that much touted color blind society, I would like to make the following offer.
Do away with the idea or whiteness and I will stop identifying myself as an African American and ask others to do the same.

I think white people are deluded in that white is all inclusive of all colors of the electromagnetic radiation spectrum with which they are able to see.
I don't care what anyone of any color,ethnicity or sex thinks.
Me neither, but unfortunately a lot of black people do and want to gain the acceptance and favor of white people. Personally I could care less as a black woman and many black people I meet think I am crazy because of it.
Deal for me for i say so many times on here, stop brining up race of any kind, it gets old too darn fast.
Every day there is a new thread on some sort of race post, why is that. And i say on here unless someone ask me, that i am a proud American. American of italian ancestory, and very proud of that also. But proud to be an American born in this Country.
Can you guarantee me that not one person on this forum will identify themselves as being black, or mexican, or white, that too gets old very quickly. Maybe if we each started saying we are proud Americans, things would change some.

One might say that I refer to myself as white, not Caucasian-American.
However, I agree, we should end classification based on race.
Everyone here does understand that, with given enough time in our planet's history, African could mean white, red, yellow or black, right?
Technically we're all cesspool-Americans...
