The fact that we are talking about it now shows that it is working.
What is being talked about are the rapes, assaults, violence, vandalism, unsanitary conditions, shooting and murders. That is the message people are hearing.

In every single place where they squat, the residents, businesses want them GONE.

If you really had a "populist" movement, you would see their numbers swell, instead they are dwindling.

But just wait til Thursday, when the unions join in, trying to convince people this bowel movement is alive and well.

Actually, the biggest thing they are achieving is demonstrating how not to do something

The Lord worked overtime to get the Devil to show his face like this .
This is a great time for us to say " Hey my Democrat friends , that's your party !"

Its time to forgive and forget the insults regarding our gatherings last year and ask our God loving friends to a tea party .

Remember not to hurt their feelings , tell them to bring a lunch and we don't have to sit in the front and cheer , it will be like a picnic and we will meet nice people.
Don't let this deserved gift go unused .

The goal of OWS is to bring attention to the too cozy relationship between the corporations and government, and to highlight the need to put some common sense regs on the financial industry--it's up to the rest of us to put that into a plan of action. Is it working? Well--how often are those issues becoming the topic of debate nationally? How many of you are spending most of your day digging for every single negative thing you can find to say about the protestors? Of course it's working--it's all that some of you even post here about, even if it's in a negative way. Whether or not the protestors succeed in spending the winter, or whether some of the groups have serious problems with their living arrangements and crime doesn't change the core message--getting big money out of elections--that's hit a nerve in this country. The message works because most people know the problem is true, and that it has very little to do with Democrats and Republicans, and more to do with a system that's become completely corrupt.

Being on the "inside" I see how changes are actually made in the political system, and what motivates politicians and what does not.

The tactics used by the protestors are not going to be effective, and have already become counterproductive in that they have attracted the wrong elements which have tainted the movement, and have already started to **** off the general public.

Nice idea, poorly organized and poorly executed.

But, what about Dodd-Frank? I thought the dems "fixed" all that?

Again, we are talking about what OWS has DEVOLVED into.

The so-called "message" (if they ever had one) is aimed at the WRONG entities.

If they truly understood how we got in this situation, they'd be at the Fed, at Congress, at the WH, at F&F. We have seen video after video, of how much these idiots don't know. They are just repeating and regurgitating obama's divisive rhetoric.

Pretty difficult for "normal" people to get behind a "message" when the messenger hasn't a CLUE what they're talking about.

I'm not saying that I agree with their move to stay out of the political process, and I'm no stranger to that process myself, but I will say this--if it moves existing groups to jump on these issues with broad based public support, they'll have the ear of most elected leaders.

protesting has a big effect. but those who do not want change can derail a protest.
bottom line, there are no jobs for the recent college grads. for the very rich few, the status quo is working great.
but its not working for y generation. this is the first "white boy" movement we have seen in a long time.
it is a display of guts, and i like elements of it.
last time time however, (1963) youth took a stand against war, discrimination and lack of opportunity;
timothy leary, AA and gloria steinem highjacked the movement,
and used it for self promotion, at the expense of everyone else.
see rabbi lerner's "left hand of god".

unfortunately not as much as they could. They need a clear idea of what they are after. Then people could support or not. Now the public has no idea what they are about.

They want Wall Street reform... start with political reform. Occupy Washington and make the Congress pass laws to control campaign spending or eliminate their insider trading and all the other unethical activities they are involved with.

Clean them up , then go after the businesses that have paid for their votes.
