I think another great thing to do would be to release the videos of the thieves and also post their pictures and names near the front and in the newspaper for all to see.

Yes, so the honest people get screwed. I despise shoplifters more than any crook. You can't even admire someone who got away with a $4 stolen item. How utterly idiotic it is to think you're clever by shoplifting.

At least the big major art thieves, jewelry thieves and corrupt CEO's stole something actually worthwhile and it may have even taken a certain cleverness.
