Rush Limbaugh is just a shock jock. He'll say anything. This was the same person who told a Black person over the phone "take the bone out of your nose".
Now, for my thoughts on the subject, not that they mean much, I have always had a problem with the connection between the Tea Party and Ron Pual. On some issues, I can see where the connection is being made, in others, absolutely not, one being his 9/11 comments and his stand on the war on drugs, for starters.
I consider myself Tea Party, a Republican that was sick and tired of bailouts, crony corporatism, endless wars and RINO's, I supported Ron Paul in '08 and will again in '12. I've said time and time again the polls and media indicating the Tea Party is backing Bachmann, Perry, Cain or Newt is a fantasy produced by the media.
The Tea Party has never been about social conservatism, only fiscal conservatism. That neocons saw an opportunity to hijack the Tea Party to push their own agenda is too bad since now the Tea Party is associated with the likes of Bachmann simply because she chose to form a Tea Party caucus in the House. Since the Tea Party is and always has been a grassroots organization that has no national representative that speaks on our behalf, there can be no endorsements made by same. This is why I'm done with listening to the media on both the right and the left. They both have their agenda which is fine as long as everyone knows that. Just don't presume to speak on behalf of the Tea Party.
you don't want someone to presume to speak for the entire Tea Party, but you are trying to speak for them. The Tea Party, as we know it today, as a group is not behind Paul. Of course some are, that is fine, but certainly not the party itself.

What is the Tea Party stand on 9/11 and the war on drugs? for starters

Are you not speaking for them, when you say they are not behind Ron Paul?
The Tea Party does not endorse candidates. Some local groups may vote to do so, but nationwide, they do not.
"No more bailouts, reduce the size and intrusiveness of government, stop raising our taxes, repeal Obamacare, cease out-of-control spending, bring back American prosperity."
You will notice neither has a social agenda, a military agenda and nothing in their individual missions screams out "EXTREME!"
