The ONLY reason the Left is unhappy about this is because it took another couple of killers off the planet.

And killed 600,000 people in the process.

b)to implant a democracy in the heart of the Mid-East that could spread in viral fashion. This was always a roll of the dice and it will take another generation to assess. I recall somewhere reading that Mao was once asked what he thought the impact of Napolean Bonaparte on world history. His answer: too soon to tell. All the geniuses who claim to have all the answers should remember this. Too soon to tell.
So what was all that WMD nonsense about, seeing as how you didn't even bring it up? Why didn't the Bush admininstration make the case you're making here?

There's wisdom in taking the extreme long view of history; however, those of us who only have 80 years or so to live, if we're lucky, don't have the luxury of always doing so. Did the Iraq War leave a lasting and permanent democracy in Iraq? Or did it just replace one tyrant for aonther? Well, it's too soon to tell, but the tea leaves don't look to favorable at the moment.

As US troops exit Iraq, Maliki moves against Sunni rivals - CSMonitor.com

Keep in mind, this is literally the first day in Iraq that US forces are not there.

So many people who were just brainwashed by the MSM. I am not a big supporter of the War in Iraq but at the same time we were there due to 16 violations of the UN sanctions against Iraq.

SECURITY COUNCIL HOLDS IRAQ IN ‘MATERIAL BREACH’ OF DISARMAMENT OBLIGATIONS, OFFERS FINAL CHANCE TO COMPLY, UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTING RESOLUTION 1441 (2002)

That is a small sample of why. All of the intelligence that was given to the Bush Administration was also given to the Clinton Administration and both said that there were WMDs there. So the left can try to blame Bush all they want or make this about WMD. This was about following up on the UN violations.

I don't like when people have to die but we did remove a evil dictator form the world who was known to harbor terrorists there.

Sometimes you just need to do what you need to do. If a guy moves into your neighborhood and he speeds up and down the street, throws loud parties and deals drugs out of his house, do you just sit back and let him do that? Sometimes you need to stand up for what is right.

As far as people moving out of America, go, please, we beg you to do so. DD and whomever else thinks it is better in China, please go over there as quickly as possible so you can live the Chinese dream of human rights violations, low wages and the lifestyle of a peasant. You can spread your wealth over there as much as possible and we won't be bothered with your hate over here.

The day we enforce any UN resolution against Israel, you can make that argument with a straight face.

The United States of America is sovereign. We are not a for-hire police squad that jumps into foreign affairs with a military presence just because of UN sanctions. The UN and their sanctions by the way, are already a means to diplomatically put pressure on a country that is guilty of UN violations. There were no weapons of mass destruction and reports at the time also said that; despite mass media propaganda and yellow press agenda with their strings being pulled by what I'm sure were government officials in favor of invasion.

Iraq and Afghanistan was about oil and business. That is why we are still in Afghanistan and why there are thousands of defense contractors still in Iraq despite the end of the war there.

Sometimes a neighbor should buy ear plugs and mind their own business in their own home. Or politely ask a neighbor to tone their life down, or call the police instead of raging in with a gun and shooting said neighbor for being obnoxious.

We accomplished nothing good.

For those of you blaming it all on Bush and calling him an idiot, allow me to remind you of your little liberal fools who said Iraq had WMDs....

Actually the War Profiteers won as we are still wasting borrowed money in Iraq and Afghanistan and at all of our unecessary bases around the world. We should sell them to the Chinese and tell them to police the world for their investment class.
