New Hampshire state employees might soon be prohibited from wearing perfume or other scented products if they work with the public. The “live free or die” state plans to hold a House hearing this afternoon on a proposed bill, HB 1444, which, if passed, could force some state workers to skip the perfume sprays and colognes starting in mid-April, when the ban would be implemented.
“It may seem silly, but it’s a health issue,” Michele Peckham, the state representative sponsoring the bill, said in an interview with the Union Leader. “Many people have violent reactions to strong scents.”
If this passes, I'm sure other states will enact similar legislation. Then a state will expand it to ban anyone from wearing perfume and cologne in public buildings, then it will be expanded to private workplaces as well.
Yep, we all know the anti-smoking legislation wasn't about health, its because non-smokers don't like the smell. Now they are going to go after other products they don't want to smell.
Guess down the road we won't be cooking any sauerkraut or cabbage, my friend had told me apartment dwellers do complain about this, oh gee poor kidney cookers.
Smoking is still a disgusting and dirty habit. However, this bill and banning smoking in private businesses is dumb.
